When the Nightmare emulator was released a few months ago the author didn't think to include a utility to create ROM files so nobody could actually use the emulator. Now we have created a program which can take the data off of a Dreamcast game disc and put it onto your computer in the form of a ROM or .GRE file which can be played with the Dreamcast Emulator - Nightmare. This program is known as the "DC ROM RIPPER v2.0".

Play Ripped Games on the Real Dreamcast! -wow

Utopia have just released their new Dreamcast boot-CD for playing backups and imports on the REAL DREAMCAST, you can download the ISO file for this boot-cd free from their website and create it yourself!

This means that once you have ripped games using the ROM Ripper you can put them onto CD and play them on your Dreamcast without the need for an emulator or a MOD chip!

This program has now been perfected to work with every game tested so far, you just insert a game CD into your drive, press the 'convert' button and a ROM will be created on your computer! The ROM Ripper uses your ordinary DVD Drive to actually emulate the Dreamcast's own Drive and read the data off of the discs, this cannot be done with Windows explorer, you need this program.

Since the output files from the ROM Ripper can be very large (anything up to 1gb), we have also created a program which will split these output files into smaller 650mb files which fit onto a normal CD. Note though that most games are around 400mb, they dont usually go above 600mb.

Think of it, you could go down to your local video store and get a bunch of Dreamcast games, then copy them with the ROM Ripper 2.0- entire Dreamcast games for next to nothing!
